Glenwood Springs lost one of its most treasured native sons with the passing of Henry "Hank" Bosco, longtime Glenwood Hot Springs executive, philanthropist and civic leader, who died Monday at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale at the age of 94. Hank Bosco was born in 1922 in Glenwood Springs to Italian immigrant parents and grew up in his parents' hotel, the Star Hotel on Seventh Street. HIGHWAY 82 UNDERPASS IN BASALT LIKELY DONE EARLY

In March, work on the pedestrian underpass on Highway 82 in Basalt was two weeks behind schedule. Now, officials of the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority say the $7.14 million project is not only back on schedule, but likely to be ready early in August instead of by the time school starts, which was the planned opening date. Once pedestrians can begin using the tunnel instead of surface sidewalks, the roadwork affiliated with the project can begin and the roadwork includes extensive repaving.
